Hendy Toyota Bournemouth supports Families and Babies Dorset

Hendy Toyota Bournemouth have secured £1,600 from the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow to support a vital charity in the community.

The donation will go to F.A.B Families and Babies, who provide support to new mothers who may be considering breastfeeding and/or have had a difficult start to breastfeeding. Their groups in Bournemouth, Poole and across Dorset provide guidance and support in a social setting, assisting new mothers at the start of parenthood.

F.A.B help local mothers to become volunteer supporters for others, offering true peer to peer support, and also work closely with health professionals to ensure evidence-based information is given.

The ECO Hub, which is based in the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole, is one of the community drop-in venues that allows mothers who may be out and about to have a chat when convenient to them, rather than potentially missing out on support at set times. Other community drop-in sessions are held at Farmer Palmers, the Palm House and Little Monsters and Little Pickles Markets as well as mother and baby events across the county.

Hendy Toyota brand manager Danny Ball said: “We are delighted to be able to support F.A.B through the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow. Their work supporting mothers in Dorset is vital to so many and it’s great that we can help them continue providing their services.”

In light of COVID-19, the donation will assist the charity’s return to these community venues to access new mothers, where regular face-to-face support is not available.
